Arlington Court: Arlington Court is a collectors dream come true. Arlington Court is in the north, only a short drive from surrounding holiday cottages. Miss Chichester was a keen conservationist and encouraged the wildlife; within her garden visitors will find deer, otters, heron, badgers and countless birds.
Watermouth Castle: History buffs will love stepping back in time and enjoying the simple pleasures of Victorian Life at Watermouth Castle. A variety of curios including a mechanical robot organ, Victorian kitchen, antique pier slot machines, fountains and music are all found within the castle.
Watermouth Castle is located in Ilfracombe and is near many holiday cottages in Devon. It is open year round and in the summer there are picnic areas that serve both hot and cold refreshments as well as home made ice cream.
Exeter Cathedral: No matter your faith, Exeter Cathedral is a magnificent architectural structure that should definitely be visited whilst in the region. It is one of Englands most remarkable churches and one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture anywhere. The cathedral was dedicated to Saint Peter and dates back to 1050, when the seat of the Bishop of Devon and Cornwall was transferred from Credition due to fear of sea-raids. The present building was completed around 1400 and has several notable features, including an early set of misericords, an astronomical clock and the longest uninterrupted vaulted ceiling in England.
Clovelly Village: Clovelly Village is a picturesque, historic, fishing village, unique in the fact that it has no cars on the streets. Within the quaint village there are traditional crafts, the Charles Kinglsey museum, the Fishermans Cottage museum as well as lovely court gardens. Clovelly Village is an historical gem and an idyllic escape that allows for a tranquil and relaxing experience. It is located near many holiday cottages in Devon in Torridge district.
