Alloa and Ayr seek points for contrasting battles
Second-placed Alloa are looking for their second win of the season over visitors Ayr at Recreation Park, however they will do so without full-back Michael Doyle who remains sidelined following groin surgery.
Graeme Holmes is a doubt for the Wasps after missing training this week due to a leg problem he picked up in last Saturday's goalless draw at Queen of the South.
Manager Paul Hartley said: "Ayr were one of the favourites for promotion so they will be disappointed about sitting in eighth place. They have made moves to change that but adding more experienced players recently so this will be a tough game.
"Our players did well against a strong side last Saturday and we will need the same effort again in this game."
Ayr will give debuts to defensive loan recruits Chris Smith and Neil McGregor as they aim to climb away from danger at the wrong end of the Second Division table.
Ryan McStay is a doubt due to a hamstring strain while John Robertson (ankle), Martyn Campbell and Michael McGowan (both knee) are absent.
Manager Mark Roberts said: "We have not won against Alloa this season but there has only be one goal scored and that shows just how tight it is between us.
"With the changes we have made we are looking to climb the table. There is no better way to do that than beating a strong Alloa side at home."
