Is Bridget Jones Still Relevant in 2013?

A new Bridget Jones novel is on the way, and boy could we use a return of the chick-lit heroine. Alfred A. Knopf sent out a press release (as reported by The New York Times) announcing that Helen Fielding is writing the new book, which she says represents a totally new phase in Bridget's life.
